Raise your hands if you are jumping into the BF3 demo this week. While I was hoping for Wake Island as the Demo, they decided on Operation Metro in Rush mode.. Not sure why, as I do not think this will be indicative of the final gameplay. If you pre-ordered, you should be able to download via Origin on Tuesday +1
Managed to jump in some this afternoon... They made some improvements since Alpha. Game seems to run smoother. I get locked up every now and then and have to do a hard reboot. I did upgrade my vid card , and I think that makes the biggest difference
I had to re-boot after install Ven - this cleared up the generic error message for me. They seem like they want to run this from a browser. I did not have too much luck jumping into a game via the server browser, but did on Quick Match. It is still locking up my entire computer though - had to do another hard re-boot What I have played so far I like.... Kinda digging it so far. I actually like the online stats, you can compare yourself with your friends, see how you rank. Once the run and gunners get a little tired, strategy will be the key. I played defensive most of the night, laying down alot of covering fire, this allowed the squad to spawn on me, which kept the assaulter near the front lines of the map. You get reward points for squad members to spawn on you, so it does help promote teamplay. Last map was my best- found a spot that I actually had a clear shot into a door bottleneck, which basically caught the enemy in a crossfire. Cant wait to see vehicles!!
Only played for about 10 minutes last night after downloading game and updating video drivers and watching a movie with the wife. I guess there are some "beta" video drivers as well, havn't installed those yet. Gameplay wasn't bad for a beta, will get a better feel for it tonight hopefully. The only way I could get into a server was to hit "quick match".
Same here Voo- Quick match was the only way to get in. There arent that many servers , so it was a wait. I didnt have any issues with lag, even on servers with +100 pings
Well, got to play a little yesterday. I've been playing a lot of COD so i need to get used to this game style again. I know it's beta but I'm not to keen on the game so far. I don't like the weapons at all. It's probably just me but i can't seem to hit anything with any kind of constancy even at close range. the enemy is har for me to see with my old man eyes. I've been trying to get in since this morning... haven't gotten into a game yet. I sit in matchmaking or time out logging in. I want to seriously give this game a shot but I'm thinking of just canceling the pre-order and getting MW3. I'll give it till the weekend and then make a decision. I didn't play much BC2 to make a good comparison but other then the new graphic engine, I don't see much difference between them. Just getting tired of spending money on pre-orders and not playing the game.
It is different Ven,,but I never got into CoD - I could see how liking one would make it difficult to like the other. I think the Operation Metro map in Rush mode is the worst map they could have rolled out for Beta... no planes, no tanks , etc.... so you dont get the BF affect.
To me BC2 is a great game. Don't give up yet Ven, these betas are never up to snuff. Many times they are testing things and don't give you the whole package. A couple of patches and it's a whole new game. I too had trouble hitting and seeing ei well, think it's a combination of things including video drivers not optimized for the game yet.

I can't play for more than around 5 minutes before it locks up. Going to install the beta video drivers tonight and see if that helps. It looks to be a bit buggy as of now, sure a couple of patches will get it up to snuff.
I'm having no issues on the PS3 It runs smooth, no wait for games, and very few noticeable glitches for an early beta. I agree with Terry, Metro is a terrible map but it's good for the squad practice and getting used to the classes. Like I said in the other thread, I'd love to game with you all on the PC version but if any of you happen to try it out on the PS3 add me as a friend...same username as here. @Voo - I tried going to your other clan's website the other day to check it out and it was down?
Early this morning everyone was falling through the ground and getting stuck. Was funny watching people run over on top of you.
I did experience one glitch last night where I knifed a guy at the last mcom and fell into a wall/planter type thing. I could see and shoot out, but no one could get me...worked great for defending the mcom when we armed it
Same issue here. I think it happens on MCom A position on the first Map Segment. Kinda over by that radar site Fell though the ground and just kinda floated around.
